Skip US 41 and Pine Ridge Road and the whole area unlocks: low-traffic, bike-friendly streets connecting luxury beach resorts, quiet beach access points, and two of the best open-air shopping destinations in Naples. Pelican Bay anchors the north end — double lanes with shared-lane markings through 95 lush residential enclaves between the Naples Grande and The Ritz-Carlton. Crayton Road runs the spine south toward downtown, passing Venetian Village and Lowdermilk Park on the way. ## The Clam Pass experience Clam Pass is one of the most popular beaches in Naples — three miles of white sand reached by a half-mile boardwalk through a 200-acre protected mangrove estuary. Lock up at the bike rack by the pavilion, then either stroll the boardwalk (15 minutes) or hop the free open-air tram (5 minutes). From December through April, the Conservancy of Southwest Florida runs **free naturalist-guided walks** of the boardwalk, beach, and back bay — Monday through Saturday at 9am. Worth planning a morning around. ## Insider tips The Village Shops on Venetian Bay straddle Park Shore Drive — check both sides, and use the pedestrian underpass that connects them beneath the bridge. Gulf Shore Blvd N has a break at Doctors Pass (after Harbour Drive) where Moorings Bay meets the Gulf. To keep riding, cut east over the Park Shore Drive or Harbour Drive bridges to Crayton Road and rejoin Gulf Shore via Mooring Line Drive. The North Gulf Shore beach access at the end of Seagate Drive isn't a car outlet — which makes it perfect by bike. ## Riding on sidewalks > It's common to use sidewalks around the busy stretches here, and that's fine: in Florida, a cyclist on a sidewalk or crosswalk has the **same rights and duties as a pedestrian**.
